Sterling Fulton has spent her career helping mission-driven organizations make better decisions, build stronger systems, and turn good intentions into measurable results. Over more than two decades in public health, philanthropy, and nonprofit strategy, she has built a reputation for seeing what is not working, understanding why, and designing practical systems that help people move forward with more clarity, confidence, and purpose.
At its core, Sterling’s work has always been about translation—turning complexity into clarity, data into direction, and insight into action. Whether she is building evaluation systems, strengthening funder reporting, designing strategic tools, or helping teams make smarter use of AI, her focus is the same: make the work easier to use, easier to measure, and easier to sustain.
Her career has spanned state government, national public health leadership, consulting, and nonprofit capacity building. Along the way, she has led multi-million-dollar grant portfolios, built systems used across 40+ states, authored national publications and training tools, and helped organizations secure and sustain funding by making their work clearer, stronger, and easier to prove. Leveraging her MHA, she bridges the gap between complex regulatory requirements and community-centered health outcomes. Sterling has built departments, designed frameworks, led national training and evaluation efforts, and developed practical tools that help organizations move from fragmented effort to coordinated action.
Sterling currently advises nonprofits, funders, and public sector teams through Silver Insight Solutions, where she helps organizations strengthen strategy, learning, and impact. She lives in Cary, North Carolina, with her husband, and their two very cute and ornery furbabies, Cam and Jagger—who remain deeply committed to treats, dog park play-dates, and lots of belly rubs.
Her work is grounded in a simple belief: meaningful work deserves the structure to succeed. Sterling builds that structure.

Selected Work & Thought Leadership
My work has always lived beyond the role itself. In addition to building strategy, systems, and evaluation infrastructure, I write, teach, speak, and develop practical tools that help people think more clearly, lead more effectively, and move meaningful work forward. This work reflects how I think, what I value, and how I help others make sense of complexity.
